The Immigration fraud is high these days, recently three Punjab nationals were deported to India as they were trying to board a Vancouver bound flight from Bangkok. They were arrested by the officers of NetakiSubhash Chandra Bose International Airport police on their arrival at Kolkata.
The three men namely Roop Singh (39), MohitSalaria (18), and Rahul Kumar (22), residents of Saharanpur, Gurdaspur, and Pathankot respectively went to Malaysia on August 20 from Amritsar in Punjab where they allegedly met three travel agents of Indian origin and paid them 15 lakh in total, as the agents were asking 25 lakh to get their Canadian visas affixed to their passports.
The trio was sent back to Bangkok illegally by road where they were asked to board a flight for Canada. However, during immigration checks, the visas were found to be fake. After asking the three men, they finally admitted that they acquired the fake visas by paying the huge amount to the agents from Malaysia. They were then deported from Bangkok at 5 am and were arrested on arrival at Kolkata’s airport, as told by Kolkata police officer.
The Kolkata’s immigration officials registered FIR against these three men under IPC Section 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery) and 471 (using forged document as genuine)
Thus, one must consult honest and trustworthy immigration agencies or agents for immigration cases. A case like these not only creates a bad impact of the country but also the genuine immigration consultancies who work towards helping the potential migrants in proper manner.
It is suggested to always read the reviews and visit the immigration office before deciding up your decision.
